Health & Safety: Wet mortar, concrete and screed are abrasive and alkaline. They can cause alkali burns, which are not felt until after the damage has been done. Non porous protective clothing should be used. Where contact occurs, whether directly or through saturated clothing, wash immediately.
A range of coloured mortars using synthetic pigments are available conforming to EN12878:2005 and guaranteed by the pigment manufacturer from fading.
C & G provide mortar skips of approximately one third of a cubic metre and these are loaned free of charge for the duration of supply and then collected.
A skip of mortar will lay approximately 500-600 bricks or 400 blocks. The density of mortar is approximately 1680kg/cubic metre.
Mortars are both abrasive and alkaline and protective clothing should be used when handling wet.
